dc.descriptionDiagnostic images now play a key role in the diagnosis of neck pathologies. The anatomic distribution of the different spaces is separated into two large regions, based on their relationship to the hyoid bone: suprahyoid and infrahyoid, where the spaces are separated by the different cervical fascia, extending from the base of the skull to the superior thoracic aperture. It is of the essence that the GP has proper knowledge of the anatomy of each neck space and recognizes the various limits and the anatomic structures within the spaces, since such knowledge shall provide the GP with optimal tools for an adequate diagnosis of the various pathologies seen in clinical practice.en-US
dc.descriptionActualmente las imágenes diagnósticas cumplen un rol fundamental en el diagnóstico de las patologías del cuello. La distribución anatómica de los diferentes espacios se encuentra dividida por su relación con el hueso hioides en dos grandes regiones: suprahioidea e infrahioidea, en los cuales los espacios se encuentran delimitados por las diferentes fascias cervicales extendiéndose desde la base del cráneo hasta el orificio torácico superior. Es importante que el médico general tenga un adecuado conocimiento de la anatomía de cada uno de los espacios del cuello, reconozca los diferentes límites y las estructuras anatómicas que contiene cada uno, puesto que esto le brindara herramientas óptimas para un adecuado diagnóstico de las diferentes patologías a las que se vea enfrentado en la práctica clínica.es-ES
